Time......................

Time  -

so precious......
so limited........
so wasted with meaningless tasks....

This thought process has been created through a number of recent conversations - when we reach a stage that we realise that we have forgotten to do the things that mean the most; as our lives have run out of time and we have just  "got caught up in life"

Friends recently spoke about taking a walk on the beach in the evening - something that they used to do on a regular basis and for what ever reasons had just stopped..... for years they had stopped and it was by chance that they took stock of this and tried to think what was so important in their lives that these moments had stopped.

These moments.......... hmmmmm - the moments where silence is so very acceptable - just being there and enjoying the moment is all that is needed.

These moments ..... that can fill your heart to the brim and even overflow with total joy and happiness without even being aware of this impact.

These moments .... of sharing time - the one thing that this material chasing world can not buy.... the one thing that can give us more peace and security than all the materialistic things in this world.

Time ...so precious... so meaningful... so peace giving

So really what is so important that we can not allow ourselves this precious atom of time?

How would we use it.............possibly a chance to rediscover nature?

To hear the leaves from the trees rustle in the wind -
to notice how the light shines through the small gaps between the branches and the leaves - to hear the crack of leaves and twigs underneath your feet as you walk -
the distant sound of water -
the birds calling out to each other letting each other know that someone is in their territory.

Sitting on a stone....feeling the energy of nature around you.... feeling your own stresses just melting away

...just allowing yourself to have this time.

And what stops us sharing this precious time with the ones that we love the most?

Take a moment to remember a walk, a chat, a watching of a film, tendering the garden together; or whatever that precious time was for you, with the people that mean the most to you................................

Remember what it felt like when your friend or family member came to you when you needed them most.

What it felt like when somebody else gave you their time.....................

I hope this allows you to take a moment and evaluate your life - and hopefully you will not have forgotten, you will still afford yourself time and you will still cherish every precious moment that you share...........................

...............................................................................................................................................

Take time out and give the most precious gift that you possess....YOU & YOUR TIME.

Smile......

More contemplation...........

What a smile can do?

There are so many different smiles ...all of which can speak a thousand words.

A slow smile that gradually lights up the whole face, effervesces through the eyes and overflows to the receiver....

The connecting smile that simply passes a host of emotions to another person from joy to comfort and so much in between.

The shy smile...........  The wry smile .............

A short clip of smiles

Wikipedia says

" A smile is a facial expression formed by flexing the muscles near both ends of the mouth and by flexing muscles throughout the mouth. Some smiles include contraction of the muscles at the corner of the eyes. Among humans, it is an expression denoting pleasure, sociability, happiness, or amusement.

Smiling is something that is understood by everyone, regardless of culture, race, or religion; it is internationally known. Cross-cultural studies have shown that smiling is a means of communication throughout the world. But there are large differences between different cultures. A smile can also be spontaneous."

A universal communicator - A Connector -  Understood by all

A smile and what it represents has been spoken and sung about on numerous occasions; sung famously by Charlie Chaplin...

Smile though your heart is aching, Smile even though it's breaking. When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by................................................If you just smile.

   If you just smile............

It is true to say that when we smile - we feel that our mood has been uplifted and this is an almost immediate effect.

When we feel good - everything in life seems to work so much more smoothly too!

This "feel good factor" can be passed to others........

A simple smile can make others feel good - its infectious!

It can comfort,  give joy, release tensions and raise our moods. Its an instant connector, understood by all - so as a society why do we do this less and less?

If you see someone today without a smile...why not give them one of yours and start a cascade of smiles....simply from your one smile :-)

You had me at your first hello.......

This is my first blog......the first of many I hope.

I was browsing around, thinking about what I should say.... When I found this article of how to open a blog...it listed various techniques such as to use humour, sensational titles etc etc.....but the article was called " you had me at hello".....

Food for thought......

All of the good advice given in this article, melted into the background as I felt my mind and thoughts just stuck on this opening line....

You had me at hello...........

Firstly, I found myself thinking about the people that I have met that created that instant connection.

Then this moved on and I thought about the people that have had an impact on my life and the number of different ways this has been.

From simply leaving me feeling uplifted from being in their company, to being totally inspired and not to mention the people that during conversation and by chance, have given me information about something, that hasn't taken long to know that I needed to act upon or bring into my life to use.

A sudden realisation and awareness of just how much people have impacted and influenced my journey in life without either party even being aware.......

Who are these people?

Inspiring...uplifting...educational...developing.....

The person who is riddled in pain, but never moans.....
The person that that never lets their spirit be broken despite adversity.

The person who has a smile that fills an auditorium yet reaches each person individually.
The person who sincerely listens and actually hears what you have to say.

The person who effortlessly fills you with hope and enthusiasm to your inner core
The person who gives you confidence to believe in your journey

The person who provides you with information, just at the right time for you - that seems to sew a seed  - just when you need it most!
The person who presents that glimmer of opportunity.
And the person who paints that picture for you, when you blatantly can not see it for yourself!

....... The list could go on.and on .....

I could name each of these people individually .... but won't just now :-)

And each of them........ Held me from their very first hello.

And still I ponder with this opening line.....

Food for thoughts indeed!
